5 Cleansing Myths You Should Not Believe
There are many tricks and tips out there to ‘improve’ your beauty routine, but should you try everything you hear? It’s difficult to know the difference between useful tips and those that can do you harm. So we have made a list of untrue tips to make to easier to identify them. To make sure you don’t waste your time or worse, damage your skin.
Cleansers Dry Out Skin
Only if you use soap as a cleanser or use a cleanser with soap in it will your skin dry out. Other than that, cleansers are great for your skin. If you do use soap on your skin, make the change to a non-soap cleanser like Dove Beauty Bar. Made with ¼ moisturising cream, it helps your skin’s natural moisture while cleansing and nourishing it too.
More Washing Means More Damage
There are people who say that washing your skin too much will strip away its natural oils, and that it’s better to allow your skin to get oily before cleansing. This is only true if you’re using a skin product that is strong and harsh on your skin, but not true if you’re using Dove. Gentle cleansers, they keep your skin in great condition from wash to wash.
Cleanse With Hot Water
Hot water helps soften oil, which is why it helps clean the dishes, but on your skin it will soften the oils that help keep your skin moist, leaving it dry and sensitive. If your skin feels dry and needs more moisture, try cleansing with lukewarm water rather than water that’s steaming hot.
Scrub Skin & It Glows
Scrubbing your skin is also known as exfoliating, and it’s important to not overdo it. It’s good to scrub, but don’t do it every time you cleanse you skin – regular exfoliating with things like scrubs and loofah can damage your skin. Remember to be gentle when cleansing.
Tight Skin After Washing is Normal
Tight skin after washing is not normal. In fact, it probably means you need to try a different skin care product, like Dove Beauty Bar. Created with ¼ moisturizing cream to keep your skin supple and relaxed after every wash, it’s the easiest way to smoother, more radiant skin.
